Is the decision to take your dog on holiday reasonable?

Holiday time is right for trips - both the longer ones, often abroad, and the shorter ones out of town. Before you decide to take your dog with you, think about whether it is a sensible choice. Not all places will make your dog feel good - due to the weather conditions, the environment, the number of people, the location of the temporary stay. Sometimes it's better to leave your dog in the care of qualified carers than to take him/her on holiday with you. At Shoripette, we understand this perfectly well. During the summer months, we double our strength so that every dog carer can leave his pet in our protection without fear. We start the adaptation period early enough to minimize the stress of separation to the minimum. Then we adapt our daily activities to the dog's needs. Spa treatments, walks, aromatherapy, massages - with us, every dog spends time in really luxurious conditions!

What to take for a trip with your dog?

If you decide to take your dog on a holiday trip, prepare a list of necessary things to take with you. Then you will be sure that you won't forget anything. The list should be there:

  • Bowl,
  • Favourite food,
  • The dog's bed,
  • Toys,
  • Braces and leash,
  • Medicines - if the dog has to take them,
  • Documents - especially when we go abroad,
  • Health booklet with the necessary vaccinations,
  • An address with our details if the dog gets lost in a new place.

Also, remember to check the transport requirements for your dog in the city you are going to. You may need a separate ticket for your dog or muzzle him. Special conditions also apply to airplanes - only small dogs can be taken on board. In low-cost airlines, pets are absolutely necessary to be carried in the cargo hold. Not every dog can stand such conditions well. If air travel is needed, you can give your dog aromatherapy which will calm him down and ensure a peaceful flight.
